DeSoto State Park Invites You To Become An Alabama State Park VIP (Volunteers in Parks)

There are four ways you can show your support for DeSoto State Park: 1. Become a part-time volunteer in one of our facilities such as the Lodge, Country Store, Civilian Conservation Corps Museum or Nature Center. 2. Serve as a Camp Host in the Improved Campground. 3. Serve as a Work Camper in the park. 4. Work on a special project. PART-TIME VOLUNTEERS (Scheduled around your time) Part-time volunteers work in one of our facilities assisting our staff. Tasks may include: providing information and directions, taking campground & lodging reservations, answering the phone, helping with events, programs & hikes, trail maintenance, landscaping duties, or light housekeeping. CAMP HOSTS (One Month at a time) *When an Opening is Available Volunteer Camp Hosts act as our campground ambassadors. Camp Hosts receive a full hookup campsite in exchange for 20 + hours of service each week. Some duties may include: campground occupancy checks, light maintenance & cleaning, making copies, helping with events & programs, providing information & directions and assisting park staff in the Lodge, Country Store, Nature Center, or CCC Museum. Duties can vary. WORK CAMPERS (1 to 3 months at a time) *When an Opening is Available Volunteer Work Campers receive a full hookup campsite in exchange for 20 + hours of service each week. A position will typically range from 1 to 3 months at a time. Some duties may include: maintenance & cleaning, painting, mowing, weed-eating, landscaping, monitoring trails, picking up trash, pressure washing, etc. Duties can vary. SPECIAL PROJECTS (Scheduled Around Your Time) DeSoto State Park has over 30 miles of trails. Year-round maintenance is necessary to keep the trails in good condition. Some projects may include: keeping trails marked & legible, clearing new trails, repairing footbridges, erosion control, or brush trimming. Other projects could involve carpentry and other special skills to help make DeSoto State Park the best it can be. Buena Vista RV Resort Is Needing Work Camp Couples In Alabama

COME TO THE BEACH! Resort in Orange Beach, Alabama is needing couples willing to work 3 (8 hour) days each and have four (4) days off together. Includes; FHU, WiFi, DirecTV, amentities and large lots. $10.00 hour for approved overtime. Jobs: Reservations, light maintenance, light cleaning, mowing, weed-eating, security, etc. Must be physically fit. Have a 34' or longer Class A Motor Coach.  We are looking for  couples to Workamp at our award-winning upscale family friendly RV park located on the Coosa River. Typical shifts are 2 days a week with 5 days off to enjoy beautiful North Alabama. Light maintenance duties within the campgrounds to include taking reservations, registering guests, restroom cleaning and trash removal. This park is a US Army Corps of Engineers park and is staffed with two volunteer park host positions. Each position comes with a RV pad, free utilities, free uniform (cap and vest), and free laundry machine usage. Note: there is no internet coverage but a telephone is provided with park number that hosts answer. Cell phone coverage can be spotty at times. Couples applying should be in good health as medical services are over an hour away. Applicants should expect extreme summer time temperatures. This is a remote park with limited facilities. The closest Walmart and grocery stores are an hour away. Position runs through September with an option to extend over the winter. The park consists of a Restroom, large picnic pavilion, several primitive campsites, picnic sites and a boat ramp. Park host duties are to provide security, boat ramp fee and campground fee monitoring. Sumter Park is a sportsman’s paradise offering excellent fishing and hunting opportunities in the park. A Park host typically works one week on and then one week off. Hours are flexible with a requirement of working a minimum of 21 hours a week. Work Camper Opportunity At Tranquility RV and Campgrounds

We are located in the beautiful area of Lookout mountain. there are hiking trails, waterfalls, amazing views and caves everywhere! Our campgrounds are exceptionally nice and we are interested in having a few RV'ers come and hookup their water and power in exchange for some help here. General maintenance like, cleaning the bath house, mowing, setting up camp areas and handyman stuff and gardening will be most helpful. Contact us with your experience and we would love to see you. We ask 10 hours a week only. Come and enjoy thank you.  Help we are looking to receive: Customer service for registered campers within campground area after park hours. Welcoming campers, assisting with late check- in, explanation of the rules and regulations. Assisting with campground special events and programs.
