Visitor Services and Interpretation
Volunteers Needed at Pinnacles National Monument, Central California.
We are seeking qualified individuals to assist with visitor center
operations, dispense accurate information and interpretive messages, provide information and interpretive
walks to park visitors, conduct roving interpretive and resource protection patrols along a variety of
trails, assist ranger and resource management staff with various projects, plus prepare and present formal
interpretive programs. Looking to fill 3 positions: One on the East side of the park near to Paicines and 2
on the West entrance outside of Soledad. Only an hour from Monterey and a few hours from the
San Francisco Bay Area.

Rising out of the chaparral-covered Gabilan Mountains, east of central California's Salinas Valley 45 miles
from Monterey, California), are the spectacular remains of an ancient volcano. Massive monoliths, spires,
sheer-walled canyons and talus passages define millions of years of erosion, faulting and tectonic plate
movement. Within the monument's boundaries lie 26,000 acres of diverse wildlands. Pinnacles National
Monument has ideal spring and fall temperatures ranging in the 70’s, winters bringing lots of rain and cold
temperatures, and the summers can exceed 100 degrees on a regular basis. The park preserves the amazing
geology associated with the plate tectonics, volcanism, talus caves and the San Andreas rift zone on which

Requirements: Passion for outdoor/resource education; excellent public
speaking skills; computer skills; ability to work well as part of a team and provide excellent public

Seeking energetic workers for seasonal facility in Sierra Nevada Mountains

Campground Hosts Needed at Lake
Almanor, CA Area For 2012
We are looking for several hard working couples to work as campground
hosts in the Lake Almanor, CA area for Summer 2012. Because each camp host’s assignment is not the
same, we can’t detail each specific task at all campgrounds.
The following is a description of general duties that can be expected in
most assignments.
Meeting and Greeting the Public, Collecting and Accounting for Fees,
Cleaning and Maintaining the Campgrounds
General Information
1.Your work schedule will be flexible. You will be busiest on the
weekends, plan to work a few hours a day, six days a week and have a day off in the middle of the
week. We pay minimum wage for the state you're working in, and we provide your campsite and the
hookups that are available in your campground. Each member of the couple can expect to work about 20
hours per week. Couples can expect to make from $700 to $1,300 per month.
2. Most employment opportunities begin in May and end in September
with Memorial Day to Labor Day being the heart of the season. Employees are expected to complete the
entire season of their assignment.
3.Uniforms are required and are provided by American Land &
Leisure.

Caretaker/Host Positions Open For
Northern San Bernardino National Forest
Secluded fee for use area, located in the chaparral covered northern San
Bernardino National Forest is looking the proper individual/couple who is looking for a Southern California
RV location. Conveniently located close to I-15/215, and 210 Freeways, Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino
are easily accessed. The facility is located at the 4,400’ elevation in the shadow of Mt. Baldy, highest
peak in the San Gabriel Mountain range, and the Sheep Mountain Wilderness Area, in the Lytle Creek Canyon
drainage. The adjoining communities are still rural, however a large mall and other amenities are a half
hour drive. Low humidity without extreme temperatures makes for a comfortable environment the majority of
the year.
Activities in a developing controlled shooting range, includes the
use firearms and archery equipment from designated locations at designated targets. This is a controlled
use area, a tolerance of firearms is expected, it is open 7 days a week and closes at 16:00 and opens at
08:00, the hosts are expected to maintain a presence on the property afterhours, merely as a deterrent to
unauthorized entry.
The applicants should be mature/responsible individuals/couples who are
self sufficient, reliable, dedicated to a commitment, and independent. A tolerance of firearms and shooting
activities is expected. The facility is active from 08:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon, and light traffic on
the paved road after hours.
Host positions are seasonal, applicants are expected to have a clean,
self-contained RV, should be able to provide proof of insurance, and current registration, tow behind
vehicle is a plus. The host area is separated from shooting area by approximately 70 yards. Currently
conditions are primitive. However, sanitation needs are serviced weekly, potable water will be supplied, as
well as an alternative power source. Amenities are in the works.
Pets are acceptable, as long as shots are current and they are kept under
control.
Local activities include hiking, fishing, hunting, bird watching,
stargazing, 4 wheeling, wildlife viewing, mountain biking, gold mining/panning, and peace and
quiet.
This could be a fine situation for active retirees who enjoy the seclusion
of the outdoors and enjoy people in moderation.
Financial compensation commensurate with activities performed, must be
bondable.

Campground Host Position

Looking for a desert experience? Look no further! Panamint Springs Resort
is a small, family-owned and operated business inside the western
border of Death Valley National Park. We are situated on a major
highway, but are very remote and operate entirely off-grid.
Panamint Springs is a laid-back, western-style resort with a motel, restaurant, campgrounds, and gas station
with mini-mart. Our campground has 12 RV full hookup sites, 24 RV
water-only sites, and 24 tent sites. Successful candidates should
enjoy rural living.
Campground host duties include: on-call availability 5 hours per day/5
days a week, patrol to make sure campers have paid, campground guest
relations, light janitorial work when needed, watering plants in
campground and maintaining drip lines. Ideal candidates should have
great people skills and should be handy.

custodial, grounds-keeping, and security tasks; keeps assigned site, buildings, plant and equipment

Minimum Qualifications: Working knowledge of: cleaning procedures and techniques, and safety requirements
related to custodial work; general facilities maintenance and repair techniques; light industrial general
safety procedures; skill in the safe use of power and hand tools; physical ability to lift and carry
equipment and materials used in the course of work; ability to climb ladders, bend, squat, kneel, stretch,

Experience and Education:

Licenses: A valid Class C California driver’s license is required for this position.
