Campers For 2012 Season
Spring & summer (April - ?) workampers needed at our “Old Florida”
style resort. We have 19 RV sites, 5 upscale “Cracker”
type cottages, a swimming pool and a beautiful dock with boat
slips right on the St. John’s River in the tiny little town of
Welaka.
We presently have 5 workamper couples, but 2 will be leaving in
the spring. In exchange for 20 hours of work per couple,
we offer a 50 amp full hookup site with wi-fi, reduced food and
beverage rates at resort events at our dock bar, lots of
camaraderie with the other workampers and even a free slip if
you have a boat.
Duties include working in the office, cleaning cottages and

Homosassa River RV Resort
Work Campers needed for both Activities and light Maintenance duties.
Homosassa River RV Resort (formerly Turtle Creek). Located just outside
of the quaint historic district of Homosassa.
We are recruiting a fun loving enthusiastic person with a magnetic
disposition to run our park activities in exchange for annual site rent. The exchange of time for rent
works out to 12 hours a week of commitment with a flexible schedule.
As we continue to improve our facilities and ongoing beautification
projects, we are looking to exchange site rent for 12 hour a week maint/landscape person. Primary
responsibilities will be site maintenance and cleaning and landscape. If you are detail oriented and
self directed—we need you on our team.

Work Camp at Bickley RV Park
Looking for work campers to cover weekends and vacations in exchange for
free lot rent, utilities, and laundry. Would handle inbound reservations (minimal), parking guests,
after hour phone calls, emergencies, and anything else that may arise between Friday 12pm - Monday
7am. Would also cover when manger is on vacation, which is 1 week during the summer and a few long
weekends.
We are a nice, clean park located 1.2 miles from Madeira Beach, Florida,
and 1/2 mile from the Pinellas Bike Trail (40 miles long). Shopping everywhere, VA center 1 mile,
Johns Pass 2 miles, lots of fun.

Suwannee Valley Campground is located on the
banks of the Suwannee River in White Springs, FL.
There are 110+ RV sites, rustic cabins, primitive tenting. hiking,
kayaking, canoeing, and bicycling are just some of the outdoor pursuits enjoyed at this

Workampers are needed from April through September (flexible) for office,
light grounds, and cabin cleaning. Any special trade is appreciated.

Campground Host Positions
Campground Host
Overview
- Campground Host positions are required to fulfill a commitment of a two month minimum and
three month maximum. After a three month period the Campground Host is eligible to reapply to be included
in the next pool of applications.
- Campground Hosts are required to work at least 25 hours per week, per site. A work schedule will
be arranged with the Park Manager.
- As part of their Campground Host opportunity the volunteer will be provided a site for up to
four people during the duration of their commitment. Site location will be determined by the Park
Manager.
- The volunteer services at Quiet Waters Park of Broward County Parks and Recreation
Division.
- A Campground Host will not be permitted to construct, or locate on the site, any permanent or
semi-permanent structure. The campsite must be continuously maintained to standards set by the Park
Manager. Encroachment on the buffer zone will not be permitted for any reason. The Park Manager can
terminate a Campground Host at any time.
As a Campground Host, you will familiarize yourself with all park policies, programs, fees and
schedules. Most of this information will be covered during the orientation. You will also learn the
direction to all needed services and points of interest in the vicinity of the park, such as grocery
stores, laundromat’s, hospitals, post offices, historic sites, churches, etc. A list of frequently asked
questions and directions to local attractions will be provided further in this guidebook.
Duties and
Responsibilities
Campground Hosts duties are determined by Park Management. Park Management will furnish the Host
will all the necessary materials and equipment to completed assigned duties. These duties included, but are
not limited to:
- Customer service for registered campers within campground area after park hours. Welcoming
campers, assisting with late check-in, explanation of the rules and regulations.
- Assisting with campground special events and programs.
- Primary contact for campers when staff is unavailable.
- Monitor campgrounds and entrance gates on days parks are closed (Tuesdays and
Wednesdays).
- Park Management will provide ample training prior to assigning of duties.
- Light maintenance duties within the campgrounds to include restroom cleaning, grills and fire rings,
trash removal, and pic sticking.

Vortex Spring Campground Host
Position

Volunteer Camphosts - Osceola National Forest
Volunteer camphost opportunities are available in the Osceola National Forest located in north
central Florida in the heart of the pine flatwoods, with pockets of ancient cypress, heritage and
recreational opportunities. Recreation on the 225,000 acre Forest is centered around Ocean Pond, a
1760-acre natural lake, and includes a campground, a day use area for picnicking, swimming, and fishing.
The District also boasts 50 miles of horse trails, the Florida National Scenic Trail, the Olustee
Battlefield, and the 13,600-acre Big Gum Swamp Wilderness. The Osceola National Forest is located between
Jacksonville and Tallahassee Florida and is close to several popular rivers such as the Suwannee and the
St. Marys and an hour to the Atlantic or Gulf Beaches. We have immediate openings for camphosts,
maintenance volunteers, Gatehouse attendants and Visitor Center staff:
Each of these positions would include electric, water and sewer and are unpaid. Position Description:
Greeting visitors and campers and providing them with information, assisting with camper registration, and
assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of campground sites and facilities, some mowing, cleaning
restrooms, trash collection and open/close entrance gate. Schedules are flexible and include between 25 -
30 hours per week. The host RV sites are located in Ocean Pond Campground or or the Work Center near Lake
City.
