Campground Host - Spring Lake Nature Park, Streator,
IL
April 15, 2010 though October 31, 2010 - free camping in exchange for park
hosting.
Two positions for individuals or couples
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Average thirty-five (35) hours per week including holidays and weekends
Greet visitors and answer questions
Monitor park for compliance of park rules and regulations
Light maintenance, i.e. check restrooms, collect trash,

Hardtop living unit
21 years of age or older
Have own camping equipment
Show proof of insurance

Campground Host McHenry County Conservation District
The McHenry County Conservation District is seeking a Campground Host for the
2010 season to provide on site services to campground site users and to encourage
compliance with park rules and regulations. Campground is open from May 1st-October 31st.
Hosts must be able to work during this period, including holidays and weekends. District
may be flexible on start and end dates.
STATUS: Part-time
(average 20hrs/week)
LOCATION: Marengo, IL
SALARY: $8.50 per hour plus housing
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Campground Host reports directly to the area Ranger. Responsibilities of this job
include, but not limited to:
- Become knowledgeable of the site and other District facilities and activities.
- Greet visitors, answer questions, and pass out District information.
- Handle registration of site users.
- Collect and maintain fees/ receipts for campsites and firewood sales.
- Perform minor maintenance including cleaning restrooms daily and maintaining a
clean site such as picking up litter.
- Be available during a high usage period (i.e. holidays and weekends) to site
users and other times as requested by District staff.
- Note and inform the Ranger of any major maintenance needed on the site.
- Post permits at campground sites.
- Open and close gates at Marengo Ridge.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Be able to work the season (5/1-10/31).
- Be courteous and have the ability to positively interact with the public.
