Job Description: Volunteer
will be responsible for assisting in maintaining the butterfly garden within the Butterfly House exhibit
and other flower beds surrounding the Milford Nature Center. Tools will be provided by the Milford Nature
Center. Duties will include weeding, fertilizing, thinning, dead- heading, trimming, mulching, and watering
the flowers, planting new plants as needed (plants purchased by Nature Center), and care of butterfly
larvae and chrysalids. The work schedule is flexible, but will be discussed with the Assistant Director
prior to beginning work. Volunteer will also staff the Nature Center gift shop on weekends (4 hours each
day). These duties include selling books and other items from the gift shop, answering visitor questions,
and performing other miscellaneous duties as needed.
A free full-service campsite (water, electric, sewer and internet) will be
provided on site. Volunteers must provide a safe, licensed, insured vehicle and camping unit and must be at
least 18 years old. Applicants must be physically capable of performing duties. Volunteers must be able to
work the entire work period and must have a friendly attitude with the public and portray a positive image
of Kansas Dept. of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism (KDWPT). Training will be provided. Work will be performed
according to safety guidelines provided by KDWPT.

Fall River State Park in SE Kansas is a quiet, picturesque park overlooking the 2,450 acre
reservoir where you can enjoy crappie and cat fishing, or viewing bald eagles in the winter months. Host
position will be available July 15th to March 15th. Responsibilities will include the sale of park issues,
cabin cleaning, and provide information to visitors. Position includes full hookups, phone service,
