Innkeeper Assistant/Handyperson Couple - Black Hills, SD

We have an 8 room bed & breakfast, a small neighborhood grill/bar and a few acres it all sits on! We are in the Black Hills of South Dakota, just outside Rapid City. Need one more workamping couple to share the workload as soon as possible, until the end of September-ish.

Need help in a variety of areas which includes help maintaining the B&B rooms/yard, etc., housekeeping, breakfast cleanup (we do have a commercial dishwasher), poss food prep, miscellaneous handyman/handywoman stuff as issues present themselves, some yard work/upkeep and preparing the restaurant area before opening (takes about an hour).

We will exchange FHU, 1/2 price meals in the restaurant, occasional breakfast, VIP tickets which get you into many attractions either at a discount or free, for 15 hours total of work per week. If you work more than 15 hours in a week's time, we pay a check of $8 per hour. Of course the amount of hours you would work depends on how busy we are so we estimate an average of a couple working about 15-30 hours per week and of course the rest of the time is for you to explore this beautiful area.

Campground Volunteers - South Dakota Game Fish and Parks

North Point, Randall Creek and Pease Creek Recreation Area's located along the majestic Missouri River are now taking Applications for Campground Volunteers. Looking for candidates who can work the duration of mid May through Labor Day. Minumum of 24 hours per week in exchange for full hook up campsite.

Trout Haven Fishing Resort & Campground

If you want to spend your summer in one of the most beautiful resorts in the country then you've come to the right place. Trout Haven Fishing Resort & Campground has been a tourist attraction and destination stop in the Black Hills of South Dakota since 1952. Trout Haven is in the heart of the Black Hills and 20 miles to Deadwood, Rapid City, Mt. Rushmore and numerous tourist attractions.

The area is filled with ATV, hiking, and horse trails, caves, nature, wildlife, gold mining, and of course fishing! A benefit to all our workers is a card for most of the attractions and is a great way to enjoy the best the area has to offer - for free or at a big discount! We are pet friendly if you obey the rules. Please ask if you have a pet. You will have a utility box and be required to pay for your monthly usage. On occasion you may be asked to move to a electric-water site if we have groups.

Here are the positions we need filled for the Trout Haven 2010 season! (May 15 to approximately September 15)

Cook/wait person - you will clean and take customer orders when needed but mainly cook on the grill & deep fryers. You will get tips. You will get an RV spot for first 24 hours of work in a week and paid for any additional hours.

Grounds Person: This position requires you to keep up with all the mowing, weed pulling-spraying, trimming. We have a riding mover and all equipment. This position is a straight trade out for your RV spot (not including electric).

Cabin Cleaner: We have 7 cabins and you will be required to clean them as needed. You will also help maintain the shower house as needed. On the busier times you will have help. Trout Haven is know for everything being super clean so you must take pride in your position. It is the cornerstone of our reputation. We will trade out a full RV spot for cabins cleaned as needed. You are responsible for your utilities.

Maintenance Person: Here are a few of the trade skills we need - electric, plumbing, carpenter, flooring installation etc. This is an on call position once we get open and traded for a RV site (not including your electric). Min 24 hours a week.

Fishing Dock Attendants - This is one fun position if you like people and fishing. Trout Haven provides all the bait and fishing equipment. You bait the hook, take the fish off the hook, clean the fish and bring it into our Saloon & Grill to be prepared fresh. Otherwise, you pack it on ice to go. Your job is to give them a great fishing experience and visit with them. A child catching their first fish or trout and us making it an exciting memory that they can cherish forever. We also take pictures of each catch. A fun crowd loving personality is a must for this position. You also get tips which are very good! We will trade out a full RV spot for 24 hours of dock time a week. You are responsible for your utilities.
