Aspen Crossing Is Now Accepting Applications For The 2021 Camping Season

Located just 45 minutes southeast of Calgary on Hwy 24 our
award-winning entertainment destination is a true gem in
Southern Alberta. Our campground is expanding in the 2021
season to include a brand new campground store, 53 new sites
plus an additional 125 sites scheduled to be completed the end of
September for a total of 245 sites!
Currently Aspen Crossing is looking to hire 5 camp host couples!
Campground Hosts will engage with visitors by first and foremost warmly greeting them. They will
provide welcome packages or other general information items as well as answer any questions.
Other major areas of responsibility will include property maintenance, daily operations of the
campground store, and educating campers on park rules.
Responsibilities and Duties:
•
Customer Service:
o
Answer phone calls
o
Check-in/check out guests
o
Complete new bookings
o
Operate campground store
•
General Maintenance:
o
Campsite maintenance including trimming, washing picnic tables, weeding, liter pick up,
cleaning fire pits etc.
o
Ensure sites are ready for next check-in
o
Cutting and trimming grass, trimming branches
o
Maintain cleanliness of camp bathrooms, office/store, laundry rooms, playgrounds, and
public areas
•
Other:
o
Deliver firewood
o
Deliver take-out food
o
Bag, store, and deliver ice
o
General policing of active, noisy sites during quiet time
o
Assist units in backing into sites
o
Operate small equipment
Hosts will work approximately 30 hours per week.
Compensation:
In return for your fantastic customer service each couple will be provided with a campsite that
includes (P/W/S) and a monthly wage of $1,500.00
Two couples will be required from approximately April 1, 2021 to October 31, 2021.
Three couples will be required from approximately May 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021.

Job Description:
The position provides support to the Campground Manager and includes all aspects of physical
campground maintenance including: outhouse and shower house cleaning, landscape
maintenance and general labor. The busiest days for tasks are Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Hours of work: the schedule is flexible and the work can be weather dependant. An example of a
daily schedule could be a split shift: 10am to noon and 2pm to 5 pm. Alternately, some evening
availability could be required to assist with wood deliveries and other maintenance from 5pm to
8pm and the morning shift would be adjusted accordingly.
Duties Include:
•
Garbage pickup twice daily, firewood orders loaded and delivered to campsites
•
Firepit clean out, cleaning up sites, beach maintenance, playground maintenance, landscape
maintenance
•
Outhouse cleaning twice daily; shower house cleaning as per schedule
•
Operation of small tractor, Kubota and golf cart provided for maintenance tasks
•
Ensuring rule compliance with campers
Salary: $16/hour, 25-30 hours per week
Other Requirements:

Must be physically fit
•
Has their own RV and can live at the Campground for the duration of the contract
•
You must have a class 5 drivers’ licence
•
Criminal record check to be provided before contract start date
Campground Attendant (Office)
Job Description: Part Time
Contract May 1 to September 7
Days of Work: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Attendant is expected to work all
weekends and long weekends during the contract period.
Days off: Tuesday, Wednesday
Duties include: This position provides support for the Campground Manager in the office during
the day and will be expected to:
•
Greet and check in campers
•
General telephone reception
•
Basic computer skills for checking reservations and emails
•
Cash Register sales, point of sale debit machine use
•
Ensuring rule compliance with campers
•
Operating the security gate
•
This position may include assisting in the campground with: garbage collection, outhouse
cleaning, shower house cleaning
Salary: $16 per hour, 10 hours per week
Schedule: flexible. Examples could include:
•
2 hours per day x 5 days per week, 11am to 1pm
•
Or 3-4 hours per day on Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 2pm – 5pm
•
A combination of the above depending upon number of guest check ins
Preference will be given to a couple who:
•
can fulfill both positions (full time Campground Attendant and part time Office attendant);
•
have their own RV (water and electrical hookups available)
•
and can live on site from May 1 to September 7.

These two positions are best suited for couples who are friendly, self motivated, enjoy the
outdoors, and meeting people.

The Alberta Whitewater Association (AWA) Is Seeking Canoe Meadows
Campground Hosts In Canada
Role Purpose
The Canoe Meadows Campground Hosts are responsible for the
management and supervision of the Canoe Meadows
Campground and maintenance of the slalom gate system on the
Kananaskis River. The Hosts will be involved in supporting the
activities of the Alberta Whitewater Association (AWA).
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
The Canoe Meadows Campground Hosts are responsible for the
organization, delivery and management of the Canoe Meadows
campground operation with major responsibility in the areas of:
•
Supervising campground operations and managing programs
•
Public relationships to promote and market the Canoe Meadows Campground and the
Alberta Whitewater Sport Centre
•
Registration of campers and collection of fees as required
•
Attending and supporting Alberta Cup slalom races, Alberta Freestyle competitions, Kayak
Festivals,
•
and Provincial Championship events at Canoe Meadows
•
Maintain and manage a clean and functional campground
•
Maintain and manage a safe paddling environment and facilities at the Kananaskis
•
Maintain and manage all campground maintenance equipment and Association assets
•
Communicate with Board, Staff and members
•
Construction of new facilities in the Whitewater Sport Centre master plan
•
Inspect and maintain where necessary the slalom gate system
Organizational Structure
The Canoe Meadows Campground Hosts are accountable to the AWA and takes direction from the
AWA Executive Director.
Working Conditions
The Canoe Meadows Campground Hosts will have a flexible working schedule that is coordinated
around the campground’s programs.

Daytime and evening work
•
Regular weekend activities and weekend special events
•
Flex schedule that provides time off for personal activities
•
Regular travel for campground activities (mileage will be compensated)
Employment Requirements
The Canoe Meadows Campground Hosts must be a mature couple with the following
qualifications.
•
First Aid and CPR
•
Driver’s License
•
Swiftwater Rescue
Note: Some assistance may be available to upgrade these qualifications at the start of the season.
The Canoe Meadows Campground Hosts will have experience in working with people and small
equipment. They must have a road-worthy vehicle and a camping trailer. The Hosts must be able
to live on site at Canoe Meadows through the summer and during bookings. A background in
canoeing/kayaking would be an asset.
Compensation will be in the range of $2,000 per month for a 30 hour work week.

Kananaskis, Alberta
Kananaskis Country Campgrounds operates 50 provincial
campgrounds for Alberta Parks with over 2000 campsites
located throughout five valleys of Kananaskis Country, in the
Rocky Mountains of Alberta. We are seeking semi-retired
couples to fill summer work camping positions as campground
managers.
These are salaried, summer seasonal working positions,
starting in either May or mid-June. Successful applicants would
reside in the campground, in their own RV. Positions can run for
2 to 4 months.
Major responsibilities include informing campers of park regulations, ensuring camper registration,
keeping accurate registration records, revenue collection, selling firewood, and the regular
cleaning of sites and washroom facilities.
This is an ideal position for those who enjoy the outdoors and interacting with the public.
A free campsite is provided, and remuneration is $2,000 per month, per couple. Some sites have
