We are in Holopaw, FL in central Osceola Co., approximately 18 miles southeast of St. Cloud along Highway US192. Nearby towns include St. Cloud (~18 miles), Orlando (~50 miles) and Melbourne (~25miles). We are within an hour’s drive of Disney World, Universal Studios, theme parks, and beaches. Volunteers’ primary duties will be to monitor recreational use on the management area, provide information to the public, and collect biological data. This includes keeping count of hunters and other recreational users, providing information to hunters and recreational users, and collecting biological data from harvested animals. No previous experience is necessary and training will be provided by staff biologists. However, if hunting is objectionable to you, or if you are reluctant to handle dead animals, then you should not apply. In addition to work at the check station, volunteers may assist with facility maintenance and other tasks as needed. In exchange for hookups and use of facilities, we request at least 32 hours of work each week per campsite. Days of the week worked are somewhat flexible. The heaviest use of the Management Area occurs from September through December, and consequently, some preference may be given to those people who can arrive early in the season. Goat House Farm Is Looking For A Couple Or Singles In Rural Tallahassee,

Florida

Goat House Farm has one 50amp, 30amp, or 110 site exchange position open for a couple or singles beginning in August-September 2018. We are a small farm situated in a rural area of Tallahassee on Lake Talquin, surrounded by the beautiful Lake Talquin State Forest. Great fishing and hiking trails and beautiful sunsets. We have over 30 goats, one hog, ducks, and chickens. Work is twenty hours a week. You will be responsible for tracking your time (we lose track of it a lot around here). Work includes feeding goats, assisting with milking, cleaning out stable, fence building and repair, weeding and harvesting, general repair work, and basic farm chores. We also have occasional tent/RV campers and one small cabin, so help cleaning when campers leave is appreciated. No experience needed, but a love of animals and the farm life is absolutely required. Must have an open mind and work well with others. We work hard to build a sense of community around here. We provide water, wifi, laundry, kayaks, fresh eggs, and a share of the harvest (we don't eat our animals though!). We do not have sewer available – perfect opportunity for composting toilets, otherwise you will need to tote to our onsite septic. Gray water dumping is fine, but you must use environmentally friendly products. No children, please. No large dogs at the 50amp site as it is in the pasture. Please don't ask – we have already lost a goat to a “well trained, well behaved” camper's dog. May consider a dog at the 30amp site, but is beside the pasture and not fenced, so your dog cannot be a digger. Vandwellers and tenters welcome (we have a tiny bathhouse with hot shower and composting toilet available!). References required. Please send a cover letter telling us about yourself, why you are interested, and a list of references to melissa@goathousefarm.com

The seasonal position will be from early spring until the first week of November and will include housekeeping, maintenance, pool and grounds keeping duties. Those applying for the housekeeping position should have an eye for detail and exceptional cleaning skills. All applicants must be in good health with no physical limitations. Schedules are made every Friday for the upcoming week based on the number of cottages to be cleaned, so there are not set work days. Some weeks we work fewer hours & others more, but work hours would average 20 hours per week per couple. We try to schedule couples together at least one day, but it is not always possible. In exchange for working, we offer a full hookup site with wifi and ½ price on food and beverages at our Boathouse Bar. The full bar is open on Friday and Saturday evenings March through October serving light snacks and beverages. On Sunday afternoons, we also offer grilled chicken and fish sandwiches, hamburgers, brats & hot dogs. Please note that with the exception of tips received, we do not offer monetary compensation with the exception noted above. Here is some basic information about Welaka Lodge & Resort and the surrounding area. Be sure to check our website www.welakalodge.com if you haven’t already done so. We are a very small, friendly “Old Florida” style 4 acre facility with a pool, 8 upscale cottages & 18 RV sites in the little rural town of Welaka. The resort is in very natural surroundings with lots of Oak trees covered with Spanish moss. Our roads are not fully paved. Our guests love it here. We have a 5 star rating on www.tripadvisor.com . The area has multiple hiking trails, including the nearby Welaka State Forest, and across the river, the Ocala National Forest. There are lightly traveled roads throughout our area where you will often see bikers and walkers. If you like to canoe, kayak or fish, the river is just a few steps from any location in the resort. In addition to our seasonal bar, there are 2 restaurants in Welaka within walking distance. We have a Dollar General Store right in town and Walmart, Lowe’s, major grocery stores etc. are 20- 35 minutes from us. We are only about 45 minutes from Historic St. Augustine and major hospital facilities. Sites do not have concrete pads as do the other sites in the resort. Some may have wood decks. You are welcome to plant flowers or improve the site as you wish. Thursday night is resort wide Pizza/pot luck night at the pool bar area. Many nights during the winter months are spent around our large community campfire with a glass of wine or a beer and during summers, we enjoy the pool together. If Welaka Lodge sounds like a place you'd like to spend some time, please contact us at info@welakalodge.com Attention: Becky with a photo of your RV. Be sure to include approximate arrival and departure dates. Goat House Farm Is Looking For A Couple Or Singles In

Rural Tallahassee, Florida
