Sherwood Forest Campground Is Looking For A Campground Manager In

Sherwood Forest Campground is a wooded setting situated adjacent to Lake Hillsboro (110 acres) and is only one mile from Glenn Shoals Lake (1200 acres). The campground consists of 120 permanent sites, 17 weekend sites in the campground, and a tent/primitive camping area. There are also additional overflow electrical hookup sites in the park just outside of the campground. The sites are a combination of 30 and 50 amp with only a handful having sewer hookup. The Campground Manager supports the campground operation will welcome visitors, oversee campground registration, direct campers to their sites, collect and account for fees, inform campers of campground regulations, policies, and procedures that apply to them. It is important that the Campground Manager also be knowledgeable about local points of interest. The Campground Manager will correct visitor safety concerns and maintenance/repair needs or communicate them to the appropriate City personnel. It is important to provide a safe and clean environment for campers. It is expected that the host will perform general maintenance work around the campground, such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mowing, trimming, and landscaping, picking up litter in the campground and park, renting out the City owned non- motorized watercraft, and ensuring that the two comfort stations and the shower house are clean and adequately supplied. The host will also be responsible for ensuring that duties performed by work campers are completed to expectations. The Campground Manager is expected to perform his/her duties Wednesday through Sunday during office hours, but have reasonable availability for campers and visitors as needed outside of those hours. The Campground Manager will be expected to perform his/her duties on all holidays, as well. The actual hours worked will likely vary from week to week, and throughout the season, but the Campground Manager is expected to maintain availability for the days he/she is scheduled. The Campground Manager will be an independent contractor who is contracted by the City of Hillsboro. The Campground Manager would be compensated as follows: Free, shaded, rock and grass 50 amp site with sewer near campground office (A3) $8,000 for the season-$750/month April through September. Spring Lake Nature Park Is Looking For Work Campers May 1st Through

October 31st In Illinois

Volunteer May 1st through October 31st at a small, beautiful nature park in exchange for a spacious campsite with full hookup. Spring Lake Nature Park at Streator, Illinois is a city owned, volunteer assisted nature park, the home of deer, wild turkeys, birds, raccoons, rabbits and butterflies. Singles and couples are encouraged to apply. The park provides two campsites (no public camping) for hosts who open and close the park gate, greet park guests, monitor guests’ adherence to park rules, check trails for needed maintenance and pick up trash. No toilet cleaning is required. Hosts work three or four days a week on alternating weeks. For safety, an underground tornado shelter is provided on site. Furry family members are welcome. Allison Campgrounds In Illinois $$

The City of Galesburg seeks interested applicants to serve as the Campground Attendant for the Allison Campgrounds at Lake Storey Park in Galesburg, Illinois. Up to two part-time seasonal positions are available, paid at $9.35 per hour and working an average of 36 hours per week during the camping season between April and October. Note that the Campground Attendants are required to continuously camp on site and will be provided with full hookups as necessary. Camping fees for the seasonal Campground Attendants are waived for the duration of the season. General Description of the Position Under minimal supervision, the successful candidate(s) will be responsible for operating a campground in a municipal park. This position involves clerical duties such as keeping records, documenting activities, handling money and using a cash register. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of campground rules and regulations, and the incumbent will become familiar with area attractions and recreational opportunities, to provide information regarding the Galesburg area. Candidates should be competent in public relations, customer service and communicating information. The Campground Attendant will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining restroom facilities, removing litter and maintaining camp sites. While operating the campground is the primary function of this position, employees will also assist with day-to-day park operations that include: opening and closing park facilities, performing park maintenance and grounds keeping, and assisting with special events as required. Essential Duties of the Position Collect all fees from all campers at check in using a cash register. Record all information accurately and turn in all receipts to City. Patrol and supervise campground. Handle daily complaints and make sure all campers follow all rules of the campground. If problems arise, contacts the Park Superintendent or other authorities as appropriate. Maintain restrooms in a sanitary condition at all times. Sinks, urinals, and toilets are scoured and wiped off twice a day. Floors are mopped and walls are cleaned daily. Clean camp area of trash and debris daily. Mow grass around trees, poles, and restrooms weekly. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Valid Driver’s License required. Previous camping experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively required. Read, interpret and apply policies and procedures, and follow instructions. Establish and maintain positive relationships with other campers and City employees.
