Join the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service volunteer team at the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery Visitor/Environmental Education Center! We are currently seeking 2-person teams to help staff our Center and assist in our outreach activities for July 2021- December 2021. In exchange for an average of 20-27 hours/person/week, work camper volunteers receive a full hook up (FHU) deluxe campsite- - level gravel lot, picnic table, fire ring; 50-30 amp service, water and sewer hook ups. Onsite laundry and limited WiFi (no streaming). Complimentary propane offered during winter months. DUTIES Duties include: meeting/greeting the public; answering questions; fielding phone calls; performing majority of cleaning (including Center restrooms) & minor maintenance; leading tours and helping with field trips; caring for live animals; operating Center gift shop; issuing hunting/fishing licenses; stocking/tracking/brochures; helping plan/prepare special events, workshops and outreach programs. Although we are not a campground, we would be happy to provide hookups for RV campers on our campus here in beautiful Southeast Kentucky. We are an independent Christian Mission located in an impoverished area of Southeast Kentucky. We host volunteer teams throughout the year. These teams provide free home repairs to needy residents, serve in a variety of outreach ministries, and simply meet needs in our community. We would be thrilled to have guests who can assist us with any of the following tasks: Construction Needs: General maintenance and upkeep at our volunteer mission housing center General maintenance at our food pantry and warehouse facility Construction Assistance (including home repair evaluations) Helping teach our volunteer construction teams building techniques Kitchen & Ministry Needs: Helping serve at our food pantry Helping cook and prepare meals for our volunteer teams & locals Helping lead and direct "VBS" style daycamps in nearby locations Helping with clerical work, phones, and more! Hillman Ferry Campground Is Looking For Volunteer Work Campers In Kentucky

Is the outdoors the right office for you? Do you like to avoid boredom with a little work while still being able to enjoy your retirement? If you like meeting new people and helping them enjoy their vacation then Hillman Ferry Campground might be the perfect place for you. A full hook-up camp spot will be provided for you and a generous $20 per day tax free stipend, which will not affect your retirement. We will ask for 40 hours per week and between seven to nine months of service. We have multiple shifts to fill, 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 1100pm-7am. The year will fly by as you enjoy your time at Hillman Ferry Campground. We look forward to seeing your applications. Duties Volunteer will register visitors into campsites and make them feel welcome to the campground. Volunteer will inform visitors of rules and regulations while inside the campground. Volunteer will help patrol the campground and relay information as needed to management, emergency personnel, or law enforcement. Volunteer will work and/or help out at the campground store, ordering and stocking supplies, then selling them to customers. Volunteer will work as a Resident Attendant at Land Between the Lakes NRA for 40 hours per week, including holiday, weekend, and evening/night shifts. As needed, volunteer may perform other duties at other locations. Volunteer will be designated as a collection officer, and issued a change fund, locking money bags, uniform, and keys. Volunteer will demonstrate outstanding customer service at all times, and perform in accordance with all federal, state, USDA Forest Service, Land Between the Lakes NRA laws, policies, and procedures. Qualifications Applicants should have the ability to drive a vehicle, stand and sit to help customers throughout an 8 hour day, use a computer, and be able to answer questions to the best of their extent. Customer service is #1 at Renfro Valley KOA in beautiful central Kentucky, so we are looking for customer service rock stars to join our team! Voted #1 Family Friendly campground in KY, and among the beautiful rolling hills of Appalachia, the Renfro Valley KOA is an oasis just off the Interstate. We do things a little different here: everyone does everything! So what does that mean for our workcampers? That means you are not continually doing the same thing all week! We are planting, trimming, making reservations, escorting campers to sites, painting, crafting, and all sorts of event-ing! That also means that everyone chips in with the cleaning, stocking, organizing, and keeping the campground up to our standards. You can expect no more than 32 hours per week, and at least 2 days off, back-to-back to enjoy all that KY has to offer.
