Workcampers will work one inside, one outside. Job duties include: Bathhouse cleaning, handyman talents, capital improvements (in non peak seasons), office duties. Specialized experience preferred. Our season dates are May 1st to October 27th. Work is traded for a 30 amp full hookup site, WiFi, Cable TV, heated pool, pets ok. What better place to enjoy your workcamping adventure than on a beautiful, peaceful lake in the quiet of mid-northern Maine. We are seeking workcampers to assist owners and regular staff with daily operations. These are active positions. Tasks for the couple would include: boat/dock activities, various maintenance/upkeep tasks and grounds; also team cabin cleaning, laundry and kitchen help, and serving in the dining hall. Campers usually work about 4 hours a day, generally 5 days a week, per person – with some fluctuating up or down depending on season. We operate late April through September. All hours are paid at $12/hr, with tips on kitchen and housekeeping hours. Though we are not a campground, we provide an RV site rent-free (water and sewer included) at water's edge for the season. Campers pay own electric and propane. Also includes free use of lodge laundry facility, WIFI, satellite TV, and some powerboat, canoe and kayak use. If the bathroom is flooded, mats should be taken out and hung on the rail to dry. The water should be mopped up immediately. Check tv lounge, laundry room and kids room. Pick up if messy and vacuum. Check coffee supplies. Empty trash. Other tasks that might be asked of a Workamper include: • Lawn mowing, raking, trimming or weeding • Cleaning restrooms, rec hall and/or pavilion • Staining/painting picnic tables, fences, other structures in park • Assisting campers in finding assigned site • Shuttling canoers and kayakers as well as hikers to and from Appalachian Trail Working Conditions: Work is often performed outside in various kinds of weather conditions. Walking is required. Knowledge of four wheeler operation is helpful. We are looking for cheerful, energetic retired couples (with RV's up to 30') willing to perform light maintenance and cleaning. We offer each couple a campsite PLUS hourly wages. Although our campground is designed for tenters and RV's under 20', we are able to accommodate RV's over 20' for those who work here. Electricity, water, and a honey wagon will be provided. Although our season runs from mid-June through September, we need help with some of the spring cleanup. Arriving in late May and departing in late September would be ideal.
