Log Cabin Resort and Campground llc is located on Big Manistique Lake a 10,000 acre lake in the upper peninsula of Michigan. The resort has thirteen cabins, fifty-four campsites and a small marina with boat and slip rentals. We are looking to fill two immediate positions in maintenance and a housekeeping. These positions would be from May 1st to October 15th. We provide a full hook up site with electric, water, sewer, cable and WiFi plus pay for ALL hours worked. Pay rate is based on experience and suitability. Maintenance duties include but are not limited to general cabin maintenance such as painting, plumbing and general repairs. General groundskeeping maintenance such as operating a zero turn mower, blower and weed eating. Cutting, splitting and delivering wood. Boat maintenance such as cleaning, filling up with gas and checking props. Housekeeping duties will include activities such as laundry, cleaning cabins, public restroom maintenance and occasional wood delivery. You must love people and the outdoors and have be able to work without much supervision. The campgrounds are owned by the Federal Forest, and we operate under a permit. We supply a golf cart, a place to park your camper, hook up if available, and monthly salary. Sun and Fun is also included. You must clean up the sites after campers leave, mow grass, collect the money from the self-pay station, keep records, post reservations, clean bathrooms and help the visitors. The amount of hours vary depending on the time of year. Monocle Lake is a large inland lake with good fishing and boating. Water, electricity and black water sewer hook up also. It has Vault bathrooms and 45 sites, a small amount of grass to mow. Host mow grass, weed whip, clean bathrooms, trim brush, clean fire pits. We pay $650 a month. We are open from May to the end of September. Days off are depending on the the time of year. You will learn your campground and know when you can take off for the entire day. This is approximately a part- time, multi-task position. We are open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. We have 17 primitive sites available for campers and one full hook-up site for our Host Couple (Couple with an RV is a requirement), a pavilion with a modern kitchen and 2 modern flush bathrooms that each have 1 shower/1 toilet. A washing machine is available for our Host’s convenience. Compensation for responsibly fulfilling the following duties for the season includes the free RV full hook-up site and $450 per month (pro-rated for ½ months). Position: Seasonal Park Manager: $13-$16/hr + campsite General Summary: Under the general supervision of the Full- Time Operations Manager and Full-Time Assistant Operations Manager with oversight provided by the Park Superintendent. Responsible for the supervision of the Seasonal Office Manager, Seasonal Building and Grounds Managers and all line level positions within the park. Duties include supervision and participation in all established work functions necessary to operate and maintain a county park and campground operation as listed in the typical and essential duties section of the job description. Hours of Work: A standard work week consists of forty to fifty hours per week, five days per week, with two days off per week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee will be expected to work most weekends and holidays. Employee agrees to be on-call a minimum of 3-4 times per week and reside within the park during non-working hours to address customer complaints and emergency situations that may arise. Additional work and on-call hours may be required of the employee due to unusual circumstances (emergencies, employee absenteeism, exceptional park usage, etc.). Volunteer Host Position Description, Responsibilities & Conditions Basic Summary: The volunteer host position is a 32-40 hour a week commitment. In return the host will receive a free campsite including electric. Under the supervision of the Park Manager the Host will perform duties described under Job Description. Employment Dates: The host position is a seasonal position from May 1st to October 15th. This position needs a weekly commitment of up to 40 hours including weekdays and weekends. A schedule will be established which is prone to change. Policies: An employee handbook will be issued which will describe what is expected in behavior, appearance and other policies. The Parks Commission will provide uniform shirts which are expected to be worn while on the job. Job Description: After hours monitor the gate and greet visitors. Provide them with information needed. After campers check in take them to their site and remind them they need to leave a 2’ clearance around their site within their lot lines. After 1pm get a list of departures from the office and be sure site is vacated. Help office when busy by greeting visitors, selling passes and giving directions. Help with kids and other park events when needed. After hours sell passes, stickers, wood & ice. Do park checks throughout the evening maintaining the peace, and making sure that the rules are being followed. Work as a mediator to settle disputes when possible and to notify police and park manager when issues cannot be settled. Write up violations when needed. Perform cleaning duties when needed. You must love people and the outdoors and have be able to work without much supervision. The campgrounds are owned by the Federal Forest, and we operate under a permit. We supply a golf cart, a place to park your camper, hook up if available, and monthly salary. Sun and Fun is also included. You must clean up the sites after campers leave, mow grass, collect the money from the self-pay station, keep records, post reservations, clean bathrooms and help the visitors. The amount of hours vary depending on the time of year. Monocle Lake is a large inland lake with good fishing and boating. Water, electricity and black water sewer hook up also. Position: Seasonal Park Manager: $13-$16/hr + campsite General Summary: Under the general supervision of the Full-Time Operations Manager and Full-Time Assistant Operations Manager with oversight provided by the Park Superintendent. Responsible for the supervision of the Seasonal Office Manager, Seasonal Building and Grounds Managers and all line level positions within the park. Duties include supervision and participation in all established work functions necessary to operate and maintain a county park and campground operation as listed in the typical and essential duties section of the job description. Hours of Work: A standard work week consists of forty to fifty hours per week, five days per week, with two days off per week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee will be expected to work most weekends and holidays. Employee agrees to be on-call a minimum of 3-4 times per week and reside within the park during non-working hours to address customer complaints and emergency situations that may arise. Additional work and on-call hours may be required of the employee due to unusual circumstances (emergencies, employee absenteeism, exceptional park usage, etc.). Volunteer Host Position Description, Responsibilities & Conditions Basic Summary: The volunteer host position is a 32-40 hour a week commitment. In return the host will receive a free campsite including electric. Under the supervision of the Park Manager the Host will perform duties described under Job Description. Employment Dates: The host position is a seasonal position from May 1st to October 15th. This position needs a weekly commitment of up to 40 hours including weekdays and weekends. Help with kids and other park events when needed. After hours sell passes, stickers, wood & ice. Do park checks throughout the evening maintaining the peace, and making sure that the rules are being followed. Work as a mediator to settle disputes when possible and to notify police and park manager when issues cannot be settled. Write up violations when needed. Perform cleaning duties when needed. Take care of small maintenance issues such a flipping a breaker, shutting off water when needed, etc. Any other tasks assigned by the Park Manager Most importantly, enjoy your summer with us!
