We are in need of a Camp Host Couple at Tally Lake and a single or couple at Big Creek Campground. Duties are raking sites, washing picnic tables and cleaning fire pits between each guests visit. Cleaning bathrooms which are vault toilets. (disinfecting toilets daily, refilling toilet paper twice daily, sweeping and mopping daily) Emptying trash receptacles and putting bags in a dumpster. This is done daily, twice daily during busy season. You will be responsible for reservations. We provide you with a daily list and you make out placards and put on corresponding site marker. Host will also collect daily fees from walk-ins, extra vehicles, wood sales and Day Use. This is an opportunity to combine work/play in Glacier National Park!! I have a small Ranch (one hundred sixty acres) on the east side of Glacier Park. Full time caretakers live on the property, manage the vacation rental business, and maintain the property, buildings and equipment. Seasonal help is needed for housekeeping, landscaping, maintenance. In the planning is expanding the operation into a self-sustaining, organic enterprise: market garden, feeder steers, chickens. There are currently four Vacation Rentals on the property (three homes and a historic bunkhouse) and a lakeshore cabin for day use minutes from the Ranch. The Vacation Rentals are operated seasonally but expanding into the fall/winter. There are presently seven alpaca and one guard llama on the property that are sheared annually and their fiber processed by a mill. Within reason, your horse(s) would be welcome, pasture and water provided. If you don't have your own RV, I would provide a twenty-seven ft. travel trailer for housing. I would provide utilities, salary and a seasonal pass to Glacier National Park. The position is forty (or more) hours per week, if you are a couple the hours would be shared. Work hours scheduled are dependent on guest reservations; time off may not be on consecutive days. The area is very rural; wildlife abounds and the setting is exceptional: lots of peace and quiet, exceptional hiking and photography opportunities. Because our housing is limited, we give preference to candidates who have their own housing. West Yellowstone has a number of RV parks where people often live for the summer in their own RVs. Season: Our summer season is May through October. Applicants who are able to work at least through Labor Day are given priority in hiring. Our minimum age for employees is 18 years of age upon arrival. Most of our employees are retirees in their fifties and sixties. What is the starting pay for new employees? Our base rate may change from year to year but is above the minimum wage rate for Montana. We do offer an alumni premium for those who return to work with us year after year. The pay rate for specialized positions is determined by the responsibility involved. Where do employees live? We offer a choice of accommodations for employees. Most employees live in town, at either the Buffalo Jump Lodge, which is owned by Ventures West Inc., or for those employees with RVs, at the various RV parks, that are owned by Ventures West Inc. There is a nominal charge for housing. Is Experience Necessary? Naturally, experience is important, but is not a requirement for most positions. We pride ourselves on the quality of our employees and our primary concern is that they have initiative, a willingness to learn, are dependable and possess a pleasant, cooperative personality. Excellent customer service is paramount at Ventures West. We are looking for eager and enthusiastic applicants who can adapt to new and different situations and will not be afraid to assist in whatever job is asked of them.
