Vermont State Parks Has Multiple Locations Needing General Park Operations

Volunteer Couple

Vermont State Parks has several opportunities for full season and partial season Volunteers. Parks and dates provided below. Duties include assisting park staff with day-to-day operations and maintenance tasks. These can include staffing the park office, cleaning campsites and restrooms, mowing lawns, landscaping, painting and general upkeep of park facilities. Volunteers serve as the emergency contact overnight one to two weeknights per week while the resident park ranger is off duty. 15 hours per week per volunteer assuming two volunteers per site. Schedule will have consecutive days off for you and your partner to travel and see all this state has to offer. Volunteers are provided a full hookup site to facilitate their experience. Propane refills provided free of charge. Volunteers receive free admission and camping at all Vermont State Parks as well as free or reduced admissions to several Vermont Attractions. All volunteers receive on the job training for all duties. Uniforms and safety equipment provided. Parks Available: Wilgus State Park in Weathersfield. Late April through Mid- October Mount Ascutney State Park in Windsor. Mid-May through August Fort Dummer in Brattleboro. Mid-May through Mid-October Allis State Park in Brookfield. Mid-May through Mid-September Camp Plymouth State Park in Ludlow. Mid-May through July Silver Lake State Park in Barnard. Help Run Camp Store In Vermont

We want to fill two positions of running the camp store and for help running our camp store. Duties will include answering the phone, making reservations, accepting payment, retail sales, stocking shelves, and cleaning store. We ask for 15 to 20 hours per week in exchange for the full time use of a water and electric site (30 amp service) with free pump outs, up to $30.00/month electric (metered), 20% discount on propane and store items, and free visitor pass for your friends and family. If you are a couple and both of you wish to work then the hours can be split between the two of you or we could possible find different responsibilities for one so that you are both working during the same hours (10 hours each) and can therefore be off together. We are located in southern Vermont near the southern Green Mountains national forest. There are many interesting things to see and do in the area.
