Silver Lake Park

Silver Lake Park is located in eastern Whatcom County, approximately five miles north of the village of Maple Falls. The centerpiece of this 412-acre park is the eponymous Silver Lake, a small body of water nestled below Black Mountain in the headwaters of Maple Creek. The park is primarily a camping park, with tent and trailer/RV campsites and several lakeside rustic cabins. The park also features a day lodge with docks for boating, an overnight lodge for accommodations, and a public boat launch. A non-profit partner organization operates the adjacent Black Mountain Forestry Center, and the park also features a system of equestrian trails and equestrian campground. Lighthouse Marine Park Lighthouse Marine Park is located in Point Roberts, a geographical oddity as a small peninsula south of the 49th Parallel that is accessible by car and truck only through Canada. Whatcom County Parks originally developed Lighthouse Marine Park as a day-use park featuring a boat launch and dock, beachfront, and boardwalk structure overlooking the Strait of Georgia, Gulf Islands, and Vancouver Island. In subsequent years a campground was added, providing a total of 30 campsites. Lighthouse Marine Park features on-shore whale watching, boating and kayaking, and picnicking year-round.
