Starting April 1 2023 – Sept 30 2023. They would be working in the office/housekeeping and maintenance positions. If you work in the office you will be answering the phones, making reservations, checking in campers, collecting fees for swimming etc. Maintenance will be escorting campers to their sites, cleaning sites and bath house, patrolling the swimming area etc. You will be working 1 week on and 3 weeks off for every month you are here. The week you are working, you will be on duty 8:00 am – 7:00 pm. You will be on call the rest of the time during the week that you work.
In exchange of your volunteer time and help you will receive a free FHU site, and free laundry allotment. We are asking for a 3 or 6 month comment for these positions. No wages involved. Wi-Fi and Cell service is spotty here in the park. We have both. AT&T works the best. A booster might be helpful at your site. You must be able to pass a background check.
We are a small-no frills campground of about 50 sites with a natural spring in a country setting. We have several small herds of deer, and peacock that roam freely throughout the park. The park is 8 miles from Garrison Texas. Nacogdoches, Texas (the oldest town in Texas) is just 14 miles away. You will have plenty of off time to explore the area or just hanging out. Come spend some time with us at Camp Tonkawa Springs.
