Santa Barbara’s Elings Park (www.elingspark.org), is one of the “America’s Rivera’s” finest open spaces and natural areas. This 230 acre recreation center is located less than a mile from the Pacific Ocean. Privately managed by a non-profit organization, the Elings Park Foundation is seeking volunteers as Park Hosts to provide guest services to thousands of visitors. The park is a hidden gem that offers five athletic fields, tennis courts, beautiful venues for weddings & special events, off-leash dog walking program, nine miles of trails, summer camp programs and home to adult softball, rugby, soccer, and lacrosse leagues.
Park Hosts must be courteous, customer oriented, friendly, and able to get along with many different personalities. A Park Host will be expected to spend most of their time outdoors performing a variety of visitor services, including, but not limited to general supervision of park visitation, collection of parking fees on weekends and holidays, monitoring weddings and private events, helping guests at our tennis courts, administrative work, opening and closing various areas of the park daily and cleaning/prepping picnic sites and venues for rentals. Your work is vital to the park’s success and a positive, helpful work ethic is essential. Job requires driving park vehicles, walking, standing, sitting, and lifting. Must be able to use text, phone and email to communicate with Park Staff and Park Hosts.
If selected, a Park Host will be required to volunteer 25 hours per week (5-days on (including Fridays and weekends) with 2 weekdays off). The park is open 365 days a year, 7am-Sunset. We follow all CDC and State and Local Public Health Dept. orders relating to covid-19.
Park Hosts can camp at Elings Park and must have a self-contained recreational vehicle. Hosts may also enjoy miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, tennis courts and picnic areas. We run a background check on all Volunteers and a Service Agreement is required.
