Riverside Campground Is Looking For Work Campers Starting May 2024 In British Columbia, Canada $$

Riverside CampgroundThe District of Vanderhoof invites expressions of interest for the management services of our municipal campground and park for the 2024 season.

Riverside Campground is located along the banks of the Nechako River. It has 38 camping sites, with two pull-through campsites and three spots with double sites. Each site allows for trailers and tents, and all have water and electricity connections, and washrooms, shower facilities, and a sani-dump are available on site. The campground is located within Riverside Park which has a playground, walking and running path, covered picnic area, beach volleyball court, unsupervised swimming area, year-round bathroom facilities and more! The campground is open to the public from the May long weekend to the end of September each year.

The Term of the Agreement will be from May 6, 2024 to September 30, 2024.

The services to be provided include:

  1. Providing information and assistance to all users of the campground facilities regarding campsites and amenities.
  2. Maintaining washrooms for both the park and campground as well as the shower facilities (opening and closing building, and cleaning and stocking supplies).
  3. Providing general labour and maintenance of the campground amenities, when possible.
  4. Notifying District staff of any damages or deficiencies with the campground and park facilities as soon as possible.
  5. Ensuring campground and Park rules and regulations are always followed.
  6. Performing daily counts of campsite occupancies.
  7. Verifying occupants to reservation information.
  8. Collecting any campground fees (including shower, sani-dump, and firewood fees).
  9. Providing a consistent presence for campground users.
  10. Resolving camper conflicts.
  11. Preparing sites for campers, including raking sites, collecting garbage, and emptying firepits.
  12. Encouraging visitors to experience Vanderhoof’s amenities and attractions.
  13. Splitting, stacking firewood, and collecting firewood fees.
  14. Opening and closing gate at advertised times.
  15. Managing booking schedules for campsites and Riverside Park covered area.
  16. Assisting users with cancellations and refunds, if necessary.
  17. Renting equipment to park users, if applicable.
  18. Gathering garbage in the park, campground, and washrooms for Public Works pickup.
  19. Performing other duties necessary to ensure the effective operation of the campground and park for the continued safety of its patrons.

A personal vehicle is required to complete the duties of this contract.

The campground manager is responsible for ensuring coverage seven days per week for the entire contract term. Preference will be given to those who can be on-site overnight. Housing, utilities, and Wi-Fi are provided.

Supplemental revenue streams as a value-added amenity, offered by the Campground Manager would be considered by the District of Vanderhoof. Such services may be by way of concession or other supply sales. These services are to be solely provided by the Manager and will be independent of the District of Vanderhoof.

Interested parties are invited to submit a proposal demonstrating their qualifications related to the services required and the compensation expectation for the duration of the contract to the District of Vanderhoof by March 29, 2024 to:
