Santa Barbara South County Parks Is Looking For Park Hosts For A Couple Of Parks In California
Volunteer in Paradise!
Santa Barbara County Park Host Program –
The Park Host Program offers enthusiastic and motivated volunteers the chance to stay in and enjoy Santa Barbara County’s beautiful and diverse parks while helping with park operations and visitor services. Hosts are needed year-round in Santa Barbara’s South County day-use parks.
As a Park Host, you will represent County Parks by performing necessary opening and closing procedures as well as greeting the public and helping set the tone for an enjoyable visit for the public. Hosts perform a variety of different tasks from park to park, but usually consist of the minimum of cleaning restrooms, emptying trash cans, preparing group picnic areas for reservations as well as opening and closing the park. Hosts may assist with other projects around the park based on the park’s needs and the hosts’ skills and interests.
Hosts receive a free RV camping site with hook-ups (WiFi, TV, & phone excluded) in exchange for performing 20 hours per week of park-related work (5 days/week, 4 hours per day, split shift). Hosts must have a vehicle on-site capable of towing their fifth wheel or trailer. The initial Park Host assignment is 90 days. This may be extended for two additional 90-day periods (9 months total) at the Park Ranger’s discretion. Thereafter, Park Hosts must leave the park for a period of no less than 90 days before they can reapply for the same park.

- Rincon Beach Park (Carpinteria)
- Manning Park (Montecito)
