Visit the beautiful Gulf Coast and help cats at the same time! Volunteer and paid positions available!
Located just north of New Orleans, across Lake Pontchartrain and the Pearl River is a place called Picayune. Here, in the southernmost tip of Mississippi, things are a bit more relaxed. Located just a short distance from the beaches and casinos of the Gulf Shores, and the history and excitement of New Orleans, with easy access to the historic plantations and battlefields of the entire region, this is the perfect location to park your RV and explore the entire area.
Volunteers are asked to commit to volunteering 20 hours per week caring for cats in the sanctuary and/or on various maintenance projects around the building and grounds in exchange for free electricity, sewer, and water (FHU) hookups for their RVs.
Those interested in paid positions MUST have the ability to medicate cats; including restraint, giving oral and injectable meds, and administering SQ fluids. Additionally, must help provide daily care and oversight of the 100+ cats in our care, many of which are geriatric and/or feral. Paid positions require 40+ hours per week. Salary is negotiable depending on skills and desires.
Paid positions require at least a four-month commitment; volunteer positions require just a one-month commitment.
This would be a great position for a couple, with one providing medical assistance while the other assists with sanctuary cleaning and maintenance.
