Position Overview:
Steamboat Bay RV Resort is a privately owned seasonal campground consisting of only 59 sites, located on the Ottawa River only 10 minutes from downtown Renfrew. All sites are fully serviced with direct water, sewer, and power hookup.
Seeking a friendly, reliable, and self-motivated couple to join us as Campground Hosts for the 2026 season. This is a seasonal, full-time, live-on-site opportunity ideally suited for RVers looking to spend a summer outdoors while helping us create a welcoming and well-maintained resort for our guests.
As the first point of contact for campers, you’ll ensure a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment while assisting with general maintenance, guest services, and day-to-day campground operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests, provide resort information, and ensure a smooth check-in experience
- Enforce campground rules and address guest questions or concerns promptly and professionally
- Dock installation, assignment, and removal
- Light maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and around the property
- Record daily water levels and hydro meter readings
- Be available on-site (including weekends and holidays) to monitor campground activity and respond to guest needs
- Assist with campsite reservations and assignments
- Weekly firewood delivery to each site
What We’re Looking For:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Comfortable with physical labor (e.g., lifting dock sections, grounds maintenance)
- Basic handyman or maintenance skills are a plus
- Must have your own RV and be able to live on-site throughout the season
- Previous campground or hospitality experience is an asset, but not required
Compensation & Perks:
- Full-service campsite for the season (includes power, sewer, water, and firewood)
- Opportunity for additional paid work (optional): Perform groundskeeping tasks including lawn mowing, whipper snipping, flowerpot planting, weeding, and beach cleanup
- Other: trailer leveling and setup, deck setup, trailer winterization, participating at the RV show, and more
