West Bay Acadia RV Campground is Not Your Normal Work Camping Position!
Some people, like us, are happiest when we are creating something or helping others. We’d like to invite people of like mind to join us in the creation of the campground of all our dreams.
Work only ½ time! We have a flexible way of working that gives you time to enjoy the beautiful Downeast area on your own, and while working, we offer a supportive context for applying your talents and expressing your passions in a way others appreciate.
What’s In Work Camping For You?
- A FREE beautiful campsite with full hookups, state-of-the-art Internet and use of kayaks
- The beauty of nature

Possible projects:
- Everyone participates in campground maintenance. This may include lawn mowing with an electric riding mower, weed trimming around bushes and trees, weeding, planting, watering new plants when necessary, keeping sites clean, stacking firewood, etc.
- Greeting guests and being ambassadors for Acadia National Park and the entire Downeast area. All work campers are expected to get to know the local area and activities to enjoy the delight of being in Downeast Maine, and to share those delights with our guests.
- Planting/caring for wildflower and vegetable gardens
- Using chainsaws and 37-ton splitter prepare firewood for our guests
- Kayak rentals and tours
- Organizing and hosting events, organizing and hosting new camp store
- Photography, Facebook, and Instagram
- Using our Celestron NexStar 8SE 203mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope and sharing it with guests
- Clearing brush, creating trails, road maintenance
- Building a boat landing, building decks, and indoor carpentry work, if skilled
