Country Maples RV Resort Is Looking For A Work Camper For Maintenance In British Columbia $$
Country Maples RV Resort is located on Vancouver Island in Chemainus, B.C. This 30-acre property has 185 campsites, which includes full and partial hook ups, along with tenting & group sites. Two enclosed dog runs. We also have private trails leading to the Chemainus River with gorgeous deep swimming holes. Some of our amenities include a General Store, playgrounds, and laundry facilities as well as a seasonal heated swimming pool and 18-hole mini golf course. Staff enjoy the perks of the park, including family members.
This position requires you to live onsite in your own RV. A full hook up site is provided at a significantly reduced rate and includes an hourly wage.
MAINTENANCE
This is a yearly full-time position except during the winter months where it reverts to working two weeks on and one week off rotation. The job includes a variety of tasks as listed below. Priority will be given to the applicant with prior campground/resort experience. The position requires that you live on site in your own RV and a golf cart will be provided. Employees are provided with training in all areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Good communication skills
- Bondable & willing to obtain a Criminal Record check
- Ability to deal with customer situations and challenges that may arise in a courteous manner.
- Basic carpentry, electrical & plumbing experience required
- Physically able to do a variety of tasks, some heavy lifting at times, walking
- Experience with heavy equipment (ex. Tractor, backhoe, dump truck, snow plowing).
- Pool maintenance experience is an asset.
- Team player, but also comfortable working independently.
DUTIES:
- Maintain the park grounds, sites and buildings as needed
- Enforce rules of the park in a polite manner, spot, and challenge possible threats, know relevant laws pertaining to security and safety.
- Some Night Patrol may be required.
- Delivery of firewood
- Report to Resort Managers & Maintenance Supervisor
- Assist with any emergency situations and report to the First Aid Attendant as required and/or Resort Managers
- Assist guests as needed/appropriate
- Able to use communication devices i.e., 2-way radio
