Camp Host Duties

• Cleaning park SST’s (pit toilet), shower house and bathrooms in the shelter house and making sure they have supplies stocked such as toilet paper, paper towels and soap.
• Sweeping out shelter house and gazebo once a week or after storms as needed
• Acting as liaison between campers and park staff, providing information to park staff on potential problems
• Answering questions or sharing of information to campers such as locations of area churches, historic sites, location of stores, and community events.
• Pick up trash between Greef General Store and Corn’s building when full and needs picked up.
• Cleaning fire pits/grills in campground
• Other duties as assigned by park director or manager

Ted’s RV Park Located in Decatur City, Iowa is seeking a friendly, outgoing, and energetic camp host in exchange for FREE site rent (and the possibility of an end of the season bonus).

Hours:

Duties:

• Greet travelers upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures.
• Assist guests with online bookings as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of campsites and common areas.
• Cleaning fire pits
• Selling firewood
• Ensuring the bathrooms are tidy
• Being the “go to person” for guests who need assistance.
• Monitor campground grounds to ensure compliance with park rules and regulations.
• Complete other work assignments as needed
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for travelers, promoting a sense of comfort and security during their stay.

Clear Lake State Park Is Looking For Campground Hosts For The 2024 Season In Iowa

Clear Lake State Park is looking for campground hosts for the 2024 rec season. We prefer a retired couple that can be at the park most of the time and can arrive late April/early May and stay through mid October.

Campground hosts for the Iowa State Parks:

• work with DNR staff to ensure that campers have the best -experience possible in Iowa’s state parks
• provide a welcoming presence in our campgrounds
• act as models for other campers
• provide park information to visitors
• clean restrooms
• perform light administrative and/or maintenance tasks.
