Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in Benson Arizona is currently looking for one couple with a strong work ethic to train in the capacity as Assistant Managers. This is not a seasonal position. After a trial period of three months, you will have the option of making this a full-time position. Prior experience in campground management is a plus. You will be taught the basics so that the general managers can have their days off.

For Her: Office requires 1-2 hours of work and be on-call until the office closes. Minimum 1-year experience with Campground Master or similar preferred. We will train if needed. Familiar with campground/ Resort office procedures. Ability to multitask. Strong guest relations skills. Must be able to help train seasonal staffing. Must be well versed with Microsoft Excel. Willingness to learn new skills.

For Him: Outside duties require 3-4 hours of work and to be on-call until the office closes. Competent in electric and plumbing repair. Mechanically inclined. Strong guest relations skills. You would work 4 days on and 4 days off, rotating with the General Managers.

Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory Is Currently Looking For A Work Camping Couple In Arizona

Title: Astronomy / Reservations

Butterfield RV Resort is the only private RV park in the U.S. that has a 16-inch university grade Meade telescope and top-quality observatory. We are currently looking for a couple. One would run the observatory and the other would work at the front desk (reservations). The astronomer would work at night giving a show to our guests, the show would last for about an hour. In the winter season we have two Astronomers that work 4 days on and 4 days off rotating with each other. You would open 30 mins prior to the show and take about 15 mins to close, so you would work about 2 hours per night. In the beginning you will invest some time creating your opening and closing “spiel” and learning a few facts about the objects you are viewing.
I know what you’re thinking, “But I’m not an astronomer!” This job is mostly about entertainment. We aren’t running a classroom, and most people are not going to remember one of the ten things you tell them. It’s like being able to relay information in a library of objects you can use. The biggest challenge would be learning to use the telescope, which isn’t hard. It’s fully automated and we can teach anyone the basics of it in 20 mins.
The front desk (reservations) would work the same 4 days on and 4 days off. We use Campground Master which is user friendly. This position is from 12:30pm to 5:00pm.
