Devils Fork State Park Campground Is Looking For Volunteer Camp Hosts In South Carolina

Escape the everyday and embrace the tranquility of Devils Fork State Park as a Volunteer Camp Host! Wake up to the serene views of Lake Jocassee with a spectacular Blue Ridge Mountain backdrop, and go to sleep under a bed of constellations. Spot bald eagles, otters, armadillos, and other wildlife, explore magnificent waterfalls, peep the rare Oconee Bell flower, catch trout and smallmouth bass, and become a vital part of our park community.
What you get:
- FREE campsite with full hookups (30/50 amp electric, water, dump station)
- Free laundry facilities
- The chance to live on one of the Southeast’s most beautiful lakes and uncover one of the country’s most unique, diverse ecosystems
- A rewarding experience assisting fellow outdoor enthusiasts and forming lasting connections
Current openings: May to September of 2027, December of 2027, all of 2028
*A minimum 1-month commitment is required, with 2+ months preferred, 6 month maximum*
Hosts typically work ~30 hours per week, 5 days a week (weekends are our busiest!)
Duties:
- Welcoming campers
- Light campsite maintenance (leaf blowing, cleaning firepits, trash pickup)
- Bathhouse cleaning
- Occasional Fee Booth and Office assistance
- Other duties as assigned
