Elings Park Volunteer Park Host Program
We have an available opportunity starting October 1st
Program Overview

• Location: 1298 Las Positas Road, Santa Barbara, CA. About a 5-minute walk to Hendry’s Beach and 8 minutes from downtown SB
• Work Commitment: ~25 hours/week, split into 5-hour shifts (opening, midday, closing). Weekend work is required, and hosts must assist during events even if not on their scheduled days off – wedding shifts are a little longer due to guest arrival time.
• Initial Assignment: 30 day probationary period, with the possibility to extend up to 9 months or more (in 3 month increments) at the Park Host Manager’s & Director of Program and Events discretion

Duties
Park Hosts will:

• Open/close park gates at multiple entrances.
• Operate the membership/kiosk for checks and parking collection.
• Patrol the park, conduct UTV patrols, and pick up trash.
• Occasionally assist with closing and opening the tennis facility
• Assist with weddings, birthday parties, BMX track (light maintenance, open track,birthday parties), soccer field lighting, camp setup & breakdown, softball concession stand, dog wash maintenance etc.
• Manage guest parking, collect payments, and handle light maintenance. Patrol the park grounds and greet and interact with guests.
• Assist with all park events (even if they fall on your day off) day off will be honored on a different day
• Picking up loose trash around the park and reporting any issues or concerns
• Other tasks as needed

Requirements

• Must pass a Background check and hold a valid driver’s license.
• All vehicles must have up to date insurance and be registered
• CPR certification or willingness to complete the course.
• Completion of a California sexual harassment and abusive conduct certificate.
• Working vehicle or electric bike (required for south side access; UTV available for main side only).
• Proficiency with Square POS systems for parking and concessions
