Yellowstone National Park RV Camping

Camping in Yellowstone National Park is plentiful, served by twelve campgrounds, but during the summer months may be difficult to come by. Some of the campsites are available by reservation, and some are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The peak camping season at Yellowstone is early July through late August. A fee is required at all of the campsites in the Park.

The only campground in Yellowstone that offers full hookups is Fishing Bridge RV Park. Only hard-sided RVs are permitted (no tents, or tent-trailers), due to being located in bear habitat. There are a limited number of campsites over 30 feet so it is best to call ahead and make reservations.

Reservations are required for Bridge Bay, Canyon, Fishing Bridge RV Park, Grant Village, and Madison campgrounds. You’ll need to call 307-344-7901 to make same-day reservations. Advance reservations can be scheduled by calling 307-344-7311. You can also schedule a reservation by writing Yellowstone National Park Lodges, PO Box 165, Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190. Reservations can be made online at Xanterra Parks & Resorts.

First-come, first-served campgrounds maintained by the National Park Service are located at Indian Creek, Lewis Lake, Mammoth, Norris, Pebble Creek, Slough Creek, and Tower Fall. During the peak season, you must arrive early at these campgrounds to secure a site.
